Who licenses pilots in Norway

Training in Norway is licensed by Luftfartstilsynet, under EASA Part-FCL, which applies in Norway through the EEA Agreement.

The licences, in order

  1. 1.LAPL — Light Aircraft Pilot Licence
  2. 2.PPL — Private Pilot Licence
  3. 3.CPL — Commercial Pilot Licence
  4. 4.ATPL — Airline Transport Pilot Licence

The medical

An EASA Class 2 medical for private flying, or a Class 1 if you intend to fly commercially — issued by an Aero-Medical Centre or an approved aeromedical examiner.

Rules change. Treat this as the shape of the system, not as advice — Luftfartstilsynet is the only source that binds.
